Where a Gqom DJ fits
Club nights, festival stages, street and tavern events, youth and student parties, and the late part of a celebration when the crowd wants energy. Many Gqom DJs also play Amapiano and Afro House, so ask about a mixed set if your crowd is varied.
Before you book
- Bass. Gqom lives in the low end, so a proper sound system makes a big difference.
- Slot. Give a Gqom set the peak of the night rather than an early warm up.
- Travel. If you want a Durban DJ elsewhere, travel may be added to the quote.
How booking works
- Find your act. Browse Gqom DJs here or on Discover and open a profile to see genres, city, photos and the booking fee.
- Send a request. Tap Book Now and share your date, venue, type of event and budget.
- Agree the details. The artist’s team replies within 24 to 48 hours. Chat, confirm availability and agree the final quote.
- Pay safely. Pay by EFT or another major South African payment method. Your money stays in escrow until you confirm the performance.

Gqom started in Durban’s townships in the early 2010s and spread across South Africa and overseas. Durban is still the home of the sound. See DJs for hire in Durban.
How much does it cost to book a Gqom DJ?
Each DJ lists a booking fee on their profile. The final quote depends on the date, set length and travel.
Can I book a Gqom DJ outside Durban?
Yes. Mention your city in the booking request and the DJ’s team will confirm travel and availability.
Is my money safe when I book?
Yes. Your payment sits in escrow, not with the artist, until the event has happened and you share your 4 digit confirmation code. Cancel within 48 hours of paying for a full refund.
