Where instrumentalists shine
- Wedding ceremonies and the signing of the register.
- Cocktail hours and canapes.
- Corporate dinners, launches and award evenings.
- Sax over a DJ set: a saxophonist playing live with the DJ for a lively dance floor.
- Restaurants, hotels and lounges.
What affects the fee
- Players. A solo violinist costs less than a string quartet.
- Length. Ceremony only costs less than ceremony, drinks and dinner.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to hire a violinist or saxophonist?
Each musician sets their own fee, shown on their GigFinder profile. The final quote depends on the number of players, how long they play, song requests and travel.
Can a musician learn our wedding song?
Many musicians will learn a special request if you ask early. Include the song in your booking request.
Do they need amplification?
For small indoor ceremonies an acoustic set is often enough. Outdoors or in larger venues, confirm whether the musician brings a sound system.
How do payments work?
You pay the full booking fee upfront through GigFinder’s secure checkout, by EFT or another major South African payment method. The money is held in escrow until you confirm the performance by sharing a 4 digit code with the artist’s label, and only then is it released.
